Tomou posse neste sábado, 9 de maio, a diretoria da recém-criada Central dos Trabalhadores Imigrantes Brasileiros (CTIB), uma organização sem fins lucrativos criada para representar o trabalhador imigrante em solo norte-americano. O evento de lançamento e posso da diretoria do CTIB foi realizado no Restaurante Beef Grill na cidade de Marlboro às 20h.

Formada em sua diretoria, por uma maioria de pessoas que já tiveram experiências comunitárias no Brasil, a entidade registra num primeiro momento, de acordo com seu Presidente Márcio Porto, “a preocupação de trabalharmos para aprovação de uma reforma imigratória urgente, mas de uma forma a mostrar aos líderes desta nação a necessidade da mão-de-obra imigrante, de forma organizada e bem articulada”.

“Queremos um diálogo com a sociedade norte-americana”, disse Márcio Porto.

O representante do Partido dos Trabalhadores nos Estados Unidos, Jorge Costa, marcou presença e salientou a importância da nova entidade: “Unidos temos mais forças para lutar pelos trabalhadores.” Jorge ainda abordou a necessidade de representação dos brasileiros residentes no exterior na Câmara e no Senado. “O imigrante precisa ter representantes que conheçam a sua realidade e possam falar dela na Casa do Povo”.

 

 

Na ocasião foram empossados também os seguintes membros:

Vice-Presidente; José Eduardo Vieira, ex-prefeito do PPS de Minas Gerais.

Conselho da Saúde: Dr. Percy Andreazi, médico com mais de 20 anos de atuação na PUC de São Paulo.
